story

Because it is usually a matter of changing, enhancing, understanding, making aware physical habits, a frequent and steady pace is preferable at the beginning. This way, the work gets really gratifying for you and not frustrating.

Individual sessions:
1 hour per week through 4 or 5 weeks, after the 2 hour assessment is a very good way to get started. Sometimes it is enough.
If you have more time, everything is possible. 1 hour 1/2 or 2 hours sessions are perfect to go from body work to breath and resonance in a same lesson.
If you come from afar, Sophie would be happy to schedule with you, long enough in advance, an intensive program of 1 or 2 hours daily sessions over a few consecutive days. This has proved to be an excellent option.

Workshops:
A workshop is a wonderful opportunity to nail your vocal technique and get long-lasting results in a short time. It is usually designed for a group since it involves Sophie and a pianist or a singing teacher or a yoga teacher or a Feldenkrais or Alexander practitioner with a perfect knowledge of the use of the voice and who can help singers (other options can be studied).
It has to be more than three days in a row to let us really get into the heart of the work. Sophie works in individual sessions only, because her work is personalized. So everyday, each student works one-to-one with Sophie and also works with the other instructor.
The last one took place in France in July 2009, with Damien Lehman, pianist accompanist. Sophie is working on putting together the next ones in NY, Belgium, Italy and again in France in the coming months.

In any event, voice therapy will teach you to know your voice better, its weakness as well as its assets, you will learn how the voice works, and you will feel in your body the sensations that will help you to manage your vocal technique.
